Can a mistake actually turn out to be something special? A young woman’s search for love leads her to an unexpected place in Netflix’s “The Wrong Paris.” The film sees its main character sign up for a dating show with hopes of an all-expenses-paid trip to Paris, France. Unfortunately, the destination is much closer to home — Paris, Texas, to be exact. What should be a simple outing becomes far more complex after she falls for the bachelor.
Janeen Damian helms the upcoming rom-com, from a screenplay by Nicole Henrich. Damian’s previous directorial efforts, “Irish Wish” and “Falling for Christmas,” are both featured on the streaming service. Henrich’s other writing credit is the 2010 comedy documentary “Vegas Bound.”
Miranda Cosgrove leads the ‘Paris’ cast as the unwitting contestant. Viewers will recognize the actress from “iCarly” and her voice work on the “Despicable Me” franchise. Pierson Fodé portrays the bachelor at the center of this unique dating series. The actor also appears in the upcoming film “Swiped.” Madison Pettis, Madeleine Arthur, Torrance Coombs, Christin Park, Emilija Baranac, Hannah Stocking, Veronica Long, Naika Toussaint, and Ava Bianchi co-star with Frances Fisher and Yvonne Orji.
The film’s official synopsis:
A young woman (Miranda Cosgrove) joins a dating show thinking it’s in Paris, France, but it’s actually in Paris, Texas. She plots a way to get eliminated until her unexpected feelings for the bachelor (Pierson Fodé) complicate her plans.
Miranda Cosgrove, Galen Fletcher, Janeen Damian, Amanda Phillips, Jimmy Townsend, Vincent Balzano, and Kelly Frazier serve as executive producers on “The Wrong Paris.” The film premieres on Netflix September 12. Watch the trailer below.
