The Garrity family’s apocalypse doesn’t end with impact in “Greenland”—it just changes shape. Five years after the comet strike that turns Earth into a scarred, unstable wasteland, “Greenland 2: Migration” picks up with the survivors learning the hard part of the aftermath.

That’s the pressure point in the new Lionsgate trailer, which frames the bunker as less of a sanctuary than a holding cell. With the outside world still hostile and morale fraying, the sequel follows John Garrity, played by Gerard Butler, alongside Morena Baccarin and Roman Griffin Davis, with Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg, and William Abadie also in the ensemble.

In the aftermath of a comet strike that decimated most of the Earth, GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION follows the Garrity family (Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, and Roman Griffin Davis) as they’re forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home.
The thriller is directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune, based on characters created by Sparling, with producers including Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee. “Greenland 2: Migration” opens January 9, 2026. Watch the final trailer below.
