Some of the most common advice from directors, when asked by aspiring filmmakers for any tips on breaking into the movies, is to grab a camera and go shoot something. And for years, Elliot “White Lightning” Scott has been doing just that with his low budget flick earning more attention that you might expect.
Directors Jaret Belliveau and Matthew Bauckman chronicle the making of Scott’s martial arts epic “Blood Fight” in their forthcoming Slamdance Film Festival documentary “Elliot.” Following the titular filmmaker, the doc tells the story of Elliot Scott and his dreams of being Canada’s first action hero as he strives to finish his movie. But as you’ll see his resources are few and talent questionable, but his spirit is unbowed. And in this exclusive clip, we spend some time with Blake Zwicker, an actor working on Scott’s film, who shares his method acting techniques.
“Elliot” will premiere on Friday, January 17th. Watch below.
