There’s a new promo for season 2 of the Starz series “Ash Vs. Evil Dead” and it might just win the award for bloodiest trailer of the year (so far). Fans of the “Evil Dead” franchise shouldn’t be surprised at the content unveiled here. Over-the-top gore, lewd jokes, outrageous characters, and a lead character with a chainsaw hand are all hallmarks of one of the most-loved horror franchises of all time, and they’re on display in this latest batch of footage.
After a successful first season, Bruce Campbell returns to play Ash, the unlikely hero, as he returns to his hometown to fight loads of undead. Ash’s motivation for vanquishing them is his desire to return to Jacksonville so that he can party and use his “man-meat” on some ladies. Along for the ride are his sidekicks, Kelly and Ray, played by Dana DeLorenzo and Ray Santiago respectively.
Obviously, this trailer is aimed directly at the fans of the “Evil Dead” franchise. It’s hard to believe that the footage here is going to bring in many new fans. You either get it or you don’t. However, for those who love the series, and Ash in particular, October can’t come soon enough.
