Comedy Central Reviving 'Beavis & Butt-Head' With Mike Judge Returning For 2 New Seasons

The idiots known as Beavis and Butt-Head are returning to TV screens. This time, the animated duo are expected to jump from MTV to Comedy Central, with a new deal to bring the ‘90s series back to life.

According to THR, Comedy Central has worked out a deal with “Beavis and Butt-Head” creator Mike Judge to bring the series back for two more seasons and possible spin-offs. Judge will once again serve as a writer, producer, and voice actor for the two lead characters in the new reboot. Though it’s unclear how the series will be adapted for a new generation, it’s clear that there’s plenty of content for the animated duo to poke fun at.

“It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again,” Judge said.

“We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central,” added ViacomCBS executive Chris McCarthy. “Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own.”

“Beavis and Butt-Head” became a cultural phenomenon in the early-‘90s thanks to the popular TV series that ran from 1992 until 1997. The series spawned one film, “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America,” which was released in 1996. This isn’t the first time the series was revived, as the show was brought back for a new season in 2011. However, this time, it appears that the show is getting reimagined for a new generation. Although, it’s clear that Beavis and Butt-Head will likely stay very much the same, obsessed with boobs, metal, and other immature nonsense.

It’s unclear when “Beavis and Butt-Head” will return to TV screens, but we’ll definitely be interested to see how the very ‘90s idea is adapted for a 2020 audience.
