Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe” sees the high-libido, low-intellect duo gets a 2020s update from original series creator Mike Judge. In the new movie, B and B head out on a space mission in 1998 (the year after the original series ended), only to wind up time-traveling to 2022. As the US government tracks them down, the pair adjust to modern life in a new decade but can’t quite grow up as they do so.

Judge writes and directs the film, and voices both Beavis and Butt-Head, as he did in the original series.  Gary Cole, Chris Diamantopoulos, Nat Faxon, Brian Huskey, Chi McBride, Tig Notaro, and Stephen Root also provide voice work.  Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, and Jimmy O. Yang are also on board.

The exclusive Paramount+ film is just the first of a lot of “Beavis And Butt-Head” content headed to the streaming channel this year. A sneak preview of the film and an upcoming revival series debuts Sunday during the MTV Movie And TV Awards. The complete original series, which ran over 200 episodes, will also stream on Paramount+ at some point this year. The new series will also premiere on the streamer by the end of 2022.

Is the world ready for more Beavis and Butt-Head? It’s nearly thirty years since their heydey, so surely their original audience has outgrown their juvenile humor, right? Watch the trailer for “Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe” below, and catch the film when it premieres exclusively on Paramount+ on June 23.
