'Boyz In The Wood' Exclusive Clip: Police Have Difficulty Knowing The Difference Between Drugs And Feces In This SXSW Comedy

Over the first few days of SXSW, we saw films from Jordan Peele, Seth Rogen, and Matthew McConaughey, just to name a few. But perhaps the film that surprised us the most, and the one that we ultimately fell in love with, is “Boyz in the Wood.”

The UK film, that we lovingly described in our review as a Midnight Movie, is a genre mixture of comedy, horror, and…hip-hop? It’s not the easiest thing to describe, for sure, but if you’re a fan of those late-night films that featured teens up to no good, an anti-establishment message, fun music, and bonkers action, then “Boyz in the Wood” is tailor-made for you.

And in honor of the film’s debut as part of the Midnighters series at SXSW, we are thrilled to present an exclusive clip, which is a perfect introduction to what you’ll get when you watch ‘Boyz.’ The clip features some lovely law enforcement officers investigating what appears to be drugs. Or maybe, its rabbit shit? Who knows?

Our review called “Boyz in the Wood” “is a hilarious retort to the critics of youth and a rousing late night movie for a new generation.” Obviously, we enjoyed it.

The film is written and directed by Ninian Doff, who is probably best known for his music video work with artists like Miike Snow, The Chemical Brothers, and Migos. The cast includes Eddie Izzard, Kate Dickie, James Cosmo, Kevin Guthrie, Jonathan Aris, Alice Lowe, Samuel Bottomley, Viraj Juneja, Rian Gordon, and Lewis Gribben.

“Boyz in the Wood” just recently premiered at SXSW.

Here’s the synopsis:

Set deep in the Scottish Highlands, Boyz In The Wood is an anarchic cocktail of generational politics, hip-hop loving farmers, and hallucinogenic rabbit shites.
