Got a Tip?

‘Breaking Bad’ Star Aaron Paul Feels The ‘Need For Speed’

null"Need For Speed" seems to be coming at the meeting place of two different trends in Hollywood: the racing movie and the video game adaptation. With the "Fast & Furious" franchise still going as strong as ever, it seems everyone in Hollywood is chasing a racing flick or project. And after considering a couple of unknowns for the lead, DreamWorks has pinned their franchise hopes on "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul. Bitch.

The two-time Emmy winner has been cast in the upcoming driving flick set to be directed by "Act of Valor" co-helmer Scott Waugh. With a script from George Gatins from a story he conceived with his brother John Gatins ("Flight," "Real Steel"), it's not really clear what the plot will be. But who needs plot when it's based on a series of games that has lasted nearly twenty titles, right? We suppose the blockbuster route was the inevitable move Paul had to make, we just wished it was in something a bit more intriguing than this. But then again, he's already done the indie movie thing with "Smashed" this fall, so perhaps this is the next logical step.

Filming begins in 2013 with "Need For Speed" shifting gears on February 7, 2014, aka A.D. "Breaking Bad." [EW]
