Brie Larson Heads To The 'Unicorn Store' For Directorial Debut

Brie Larson is having a year, and then some. The actress kicked off 2016 by taking home the Oscar for Best Actress in “Room,” this summer she won over the hearts of fans at San Diego Comic Con by officially signing up to play “Captain Marvel,” and now she’s set to make another big career move.

THR reports that Larson will star in the indie comedy “Unicorn Store,” which she will also produce, make as her directorial debut. Impressive. Originally set up with Miguel Arteta (“Youth In Revolt,” “Cedar Rapids“) directing Rebel Wilson, the Samantha McIntyre penned script follows a woman who moves back in with her parents, but gets invited to the titular store where she learns what it means to grow up.

The project is financed, and cameras will roll in October, so Larson isn’t waiting a moment to test her skills behind the camera. And we’ll be eager to see the results. As for where you’ll see her next, she has Ben Wheatley‘s “Free Fire” coming, and it’ll likely pop up at a fall festival, with an announcement surely due anytime now…
