How’s this for an actor team-up? Deadline reports that Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding will star in an upcoming movie for Amazon MGM Studios. “Close Personal Friends” is the title, but official plot details remain under wraps. “Big Time Adolescence” director Jason Orley will helm the picture, with Isaac Aptaker writing the script based on a story by him and Orley.

Given the cast and title, it’s safe to assume this project will be a romance-tinged drama or comedy, but that’s speculation. Aptaker also produces with Elizabeth Berger via The Walk-Up Company along with Maximum Effort‘s Ashley Fox and Johnny Pariseau. Orley will executive produce.
“Close Personal Friends” will be Larson’s first film since 2023’s “The Marvels” and “Fast X.” The actress is coming off the success of the Apple TV+ series “Lessons In Chemistry,” a role that earned Larson Emmy, SAG, Critics Choice and Golden Globe nods. Larson also had a recent cameo in “The Bear” Season 4, and provided voice work for “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.”
As for Collins, the “Emily In Paris” actress other recent work includes last year’s “MaXXXine” and her stage debut on the West End in Bess Woh‘s “Barcelona.” She also stars in “The Summer Book,” which hits US theaters this September.
Quaid is in the midst of a breakout 2025 that includes starring roles in “Companion,” “Novocaine,” and “Heads Of State.” He also starred in “Neighborhood Watch” this year opposite Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Quaid also has a main role in Prime Video‘s “The Boys,” with Season 5 hitting the streamer next year.
Golding’s recent work includes “Nine Perfect Strangers” Season 2 on Hulu, “Another Simple Favor” for Amazon MGM Studios, and “The Old Guard 2” on Netflix. The British actor also starred in “Daniela Forever” this summer. Other recent film roles include last year’s “The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” his second film with Guy Ritchie after “The Gentlemen.”
Stay tuned for more details about “Close Personal Friends.” Expect it to hit theaters sometime in 2026.
