It seems no one can stop talking about Captain Marvel and where the character, who is slated for a solo movie in 2018, will pop up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For a long time, rumors circulated that she would make an entrance in "Avengers: Age Of Ultron," but those were kiboshed. But it seems, at least early on, the idea was tossed around to have her appear in the movie. **Spoilers ahead**
Speaking with Badass Digest, Kevin Feige confirms: "[Captain Marvel] was in a draft. But to me, it would have done that character a disservice, to meet her fully formed, in a costume and part of the Avengers already when 99% of the audience would go, ‘Who is that?’ It’s just not the way we’ve done it before," he said, underscoring the point he’s made previously. But, putting Captain Marvel in ‘Ultron’ did go a fair distance before the idea was struck down.

"The way we reveal Scarlet Witch [in costume] at the end of the movie? Those were Captain Marvel plate shots," Feige admits. "Joss [Whedon] said, ‘We’ll cast her later!’ And I said, ‘Yeah Joss, we’ll cast her later.’ [Whispers to an invisible associate who isn’t Joss] ‘We’re not putting her in there!’ "
But the solo movie is moving along. THR reports that Nicole Perlman ("Guardians of the Galaxy") and Meg LeFauve ("Inside Out") have been tasked with penning the script.
