Chris Evans Joins The Ridiculously Stacked Cast Of Adam McKay's 'Don't Look Up'

Adam McKay just needs to relax a little. No offense to the Oscar-nominated filmmaker, but it’s clear that he is worried that no one will watch his upcoming Netflix film, “Don’t Look Up.” Why else would he call up the biggest names in the world of acting to join the cast? And does he really need to add Captain America, Chris Evans, as the cherry on top? This is getting ridiculous. (Ridiculously awesome, that is.)

According to Deadline, Chris Evans is the latest A-lister to join Adam McKay’s newest satire, “Don’t Look Up,” which is expected to arrive on Netflix in 2021. The film follows the story of two scientists that believe an asteroid is headed on a collision course with Earth and will result in total destruction. They must then go on a media tour to help spread the word about the impending doom.

Evans is an absolutely massive star right now, thanks in no small part to his role over the past decade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America. Of course, he’s not limited to that role and has been an entertaining force to be reckoned with a number of films, including last year’s “Knives Out.” Basically, we’re down for whatever movie he signs up for.

It just so happens that the latest movie is already chock full of some of the biggest names in Hollywood. McKay has already secured the services of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Himesh Patel, Kid Cudi, Matthew Perry, Rob Morgan, and Tomer Sisley. Read that list again. Seriously. It’s ludicrous.

There’s no release date for “Don’t Look Up,” but you better believe this is going to be one of the biggest awards season pushes for Netflix in 2021.
