'Violence Of Action': Chris Pine, Ben Foster & Gillian Jacobs To Star In New Film

Though the world is still paused due to COVID-19 and Hollywood has yet to fully begin production on various films and TV projects, there are still plenty of deals to be made. And instead of trying to figure out how to get an action film in front of cameras, it appears that STX has secured a big-time action film starring some great actors that has already finished filming, titled “Violence of Action.”

According to Deadline, STX has secured the rights to the upcoming film, “Violence of Action,” starring Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and Gillian Jacobs. The film is directed by Tarik Saleh and stars Pine as a former marine who joins an elite black ops team that travels to Eastern Europe to investigate a mysterious threat. While there, he finds himself betrayed and having to survive on his own while also trying to discover who double-crossed him.

Saleh is probably best known for directing films such as “Metropia” and “The Nile Hilton Incident.” Most recently, the filmmaker has worked on projects such as “Westworld” and “Ray Donovan.”

Chris Pine has a number of high-profile projects in the works, in addition to “Violence of Action.” He’s recently signed on to star in the upcoming reboot of “The Saint,” and he is set to star in Olivia Wilde’s upcoming psychological thriller, “Don’t Worry Darling.” Of course, his next feature is the superhero film “Wonder Woman 1984,” which will arrive in theaters (maybe) in October.

Foster most recently starred in films such as “Galveston,” “Hostiles,” and the acclaimed film “Leave No Trace.” He also has a number of films expected to be released soon, including the action film “Medieval.” Interestingly, both he and Pine starred in “Hell or High Water.”

Jacobs is probably known for her TV work in projects such as “Community” and “Love,” but she has been in quite a few films recently, including “Life of the Party” and “Ibiza.” She also starred in the film, “I Used to Go Here,” which was supposed to play at this year’s SXSW.

There’s no release date set for “Violence of Action,” but the film is currently in post-production.
