Christopher McQuarrie Denies Reports About Problems On The Set Of 'Mission: Impossible 5'

nullLate last week, a saucy report dropped there were problems on the set "Mission: Impossible 5." With five months to go until release, the word was that the film’s finale needed fine tuning, and, somewhat alarmingly, production was being shut down for a week so McQuarrie and an unpaid mystery friend could rework the ending. But McQuarrie is having none of it.

The director hit Twitter and clarified (in a since deleted tweet) that “filming never wrapped [and] we took a short break to prep the finale properly.” That sorta amounts to what The Hollywood Reporter said, but without the inference that things might be going south on the production. But McQuarrie didn’t stop there, sending out a couple more missives implying all was fine, except that perhaps his own character was taking a beating — check them out below.

The truth of this story — which probably lies in the middle — will shake out as the release date draws closer and closer. "Mission: Impossible 5" arrives on July 31st.
