Connection Between 'Rogue One' & 'The Last Jedi' Revealed

**SPOILERS AHEAD** Well, not really, but if you’re still looking to go into “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” completely cold, you’ll want to skip this story. But really, you shouldn’t be reading anything about the movie if you haven’t seen it yet.

One of the more contentious issues when it comes to criticism of ‘The Last Jedi,’ has to the main plot thread, which sees the Resistance caught in a very slow chase with the First Order. Essentially, the Resistance spends most of their time staying just out of fatal range of the weaponary of the First Order, with the fascistic group continually on their tail thanks to a new weapon: hyperspace tracking. Despite how it’s deployed, it’s a nifty addition to the “Star Wars” universe, which now means no one can just blast away from danger by flipping into hyperspace mode.

However, keen “Star Wars” fans may have already been aware of “hyperspace tracking” if they paid close attention to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” The developing tech was first discovered by Jyn Erso as she was rooting around the Empire’s archives looking for the Death Star plans. Nothing is accidental, and Lucasfilm guru Pablo Hidalgo confirms the Easter Egg, and gives a bit more explanation from his book, “The Last Jedi Visual Dictionary“:
