'The Craft: Legacy' Trailer: A New Group Of Teen Witches Takes Over In Zoe Lister-Jones' Sequel

There’s no one out there that would claim that “The Craft” is anything more than a mid-’90s guilty pleasure. But with its story about a quartet of teen witches dealing with high school issues like bullying, jealousy, and parent issues, the film is pretty timeless. And of course, that means Hollywood is ready to remake it, as we see in the first trailer for “The Craft: Legacy.”

But “The Craft: Legacy” isn’t a complete remake. In fact, judging by one scene, in particular, this film is firmly a sequel that takes place more than two decades after the original. However, considering the film features another group of four girls dealing with high school troubles through the use of spells, it’s clear this is not just a sequel but a new beginning to a potential franchise, putting it in the same category with 2018’s “Halloween,” which was also produced by Blumhouse.

The cast for the new film includes Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine, Michelle Monaghan, and David Duchovny. Zoe Lister-Jones is the writer-director of the film. She made her directorial debut with the feature, “Band Aid,” in 2017.
