Ordinarily, we’re wary of sequels especially for comedies (we love you Will Ferrell, but “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” has a huge bar to hit), but we’ll say this: the first red band trailer for “22 Jump Street” made us laugh. A lot.
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are back as Schmidt and Jenko, this time operating across the street at—you guessed it—22 Jump Street (no more Korean Jesus?). This time, they are heading to college to bust yet another drug dealer blah blah blah partying, college life, booze and these two dudes in the mix. And again, it looks like a pretty awesome blend. Here’s the official synopsis:
After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.
“22 Jump Street” is back in action on June 13, 2014. Watch the domestic and international red band trailers below.
