According to THR, Scott Z. Burns’ upcoming Apple TV+ anthology series, “Extrapolations,” is still adding to its ensemble cast with the inclusion of Edward Norton, Indira Varma, Keri Russell, Cherry Jones, and Michael Gandolfini. Those names alone would be enough to make the series a must-watch when it hits the streamer. But, as has been already reported, those actors join the cast that already includes Meryl Streep, Kit Harington, Matthew Rhys, Sienna Miller, Gemma Chan, Tahar Rahim, Daveed Diggs, David Schwimmer, Adarsh Gourav, Marion Cotillard, Eiza Gonzalez, Tobey Maguire, and Forest Whitaker. Seriously.

As mentioned, “Extrapolations” is an anthology series that aims to tell different stories about how climate change is going to eventually really wreck the planet. Combine that premise with the fact that it is written and created by Burns, who is a frequent collaborator with the likes of Steven Soderbergh and David Fincher, and you get a project that actors are seemingly very eager to join.

Of the new names, folks like Edward Norton and Keri Russell are the immediate standouts, as both are leading actor types. But let’s not forget that Indira Varma has a number of massive projects under her belt, including “Rome,” “Game of Thrones,” and “Carnival Row.” Then you have Cherry Jones who has won three Emmys, including wins for series such as “Succession” and “Handmaid’s Tale.” Oh, and Michael Gandolfini? He’s the son of James Gandolfini and the recent star of “The Many Saints of Newark.” None of these folks are slouches, at all.

There’s no release date set for “Extrapolations,” but clearly, the Apple TV+ series is becoming a true must-see event when it does debut, likely in 2022.
