Well, it looks like Edgar Wright has left a treat in everyone’s stocking. As we barrel into Christmas weekend, the first look at the director’s upcoming “Baby Driver” has landed, giving us all another reason to look forward to 2017.

Perhaps featuring Wright’s starriest cast yet — Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, and more — the film follows a getaway driver who puts the pedal to the metal when a heist goes wrong. And for a director who has already cemented his status one of the best when it come to marrying music and images, Wright says “Baby Driver” offers a new challenge.
“I always wanted to do an action movie that was powered by music,” he told EW. “It’s something that’s very much a part of my previous films and I thought of this idea of how to take that a stage further by having a character who listens to music the entire time. So, you have this young getaway driver who has to soundtrack his entire existence, particularly the bank robberies and fast getaways that come afterwards.”
Sounds awesome. “Baby Driver” opens on August 11, 2017.
