First Look At Meryl Streep & Tommy Lee Jones In 'Hope Springs'

nullWith the beloved Meryl Streep proving with "Mamma Mia!" and "Julie & Julia" that she can dominate summer just as well as the awards season, this August Columbia Pictures is hoping that the actress can once again get women out to theaters with "Hope Springs" (formerly known as "Great Hope Springs").

The first image has arrived for the film giving us a look at Streep and her co-star Tommy Lee Jones. The project, penned by TV scribe Vanessa Taylor, reteams the actress with "The Devil Wears Prada" helmer David Frankel, following a long-married couple who travel to a small town to visit a famed relationship guru (Steve Carell) in order to save their marriage. The film was originally slated to hit theaters in December opposite "The Hobbit," but wiser heads prevailed and the movie will now face off against Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis' political comedy "The Campaign." Still tough competition, but the two films will be reaching two very different audiences so it should do just fine.

"Hope Springs" opens on August 10th. [Kinopoisk]
