Few true stories of murder are as lurid, or as lasing in the pop culture conscience, quite like the tale of Lizzie Borden. Now, it’s being brought to life by two terrific actresses.
Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny join forces for director Craig William Macneill‘s (“The Boy“) new film “Lizzie,” which paints a more layered look the crime that shocked the nation. Jamey Sheridan, Fiona Shaw, Kim Dickens, and Denis O’Hare round out the cast. Here’s the official synopsis:
Based on the 1892 murder of Lizzie Borden‘s family in Fall River, MA, this tense psychological thriller lays bare the legend of Lizzie Borden to reveal the much more complex, poignant and truly terrifying woman within, as well as her intimate bond with the family‘s young Irish housemaid, Bridget Sullivan.
The film will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival which runs from January 18-28.
