First Look: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman & More In Edgar Wright's 'The World's End'

nullWell, it's a wrap. Production has ended on Edgar Wright's "The World's End" and star Simon Pegg has tweeted out the first look from the film. It's not terribly exciting as a photo, but it does showcase the fantastic English cast, which includes Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, "The Hobbit" star Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan. Not pictured, but still included in this solid cast is Rosamund Pike.

Here's the official synopsis and yes, with the globe just missing the end of it all by a heartbeat today (thanks for sparing us, Mayans!), apocalypse films seem to be on everyone's mind in 2013. (The first trailer for "This Is The End" dropped yesterday in case you missed it).

In "The World’s End", 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – "The World’s End." As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching "The World’s End" is the least of their worries.

On "The World's End," Wright reteams with creative collaborators such as director of photography Bill Pope, production designer Marcus Rowland, editor Paul Machliss, stunt coordinator Bradley Allen, and VFX team Double Negative. "The World's End" is set to destruct on October 25, 2013.
