'Four Days Like Sunday': Rebecca Hall To Write, Direct & Star In Upcoming Family Drama

When Rebecca Hall isn’t in the middle of kaiju battles in the “Godzilla x King Kong” MonsterVerse, she’s often seen making really great films. Her directorial debut, “Passing,” is a wonderful example of her creative mind. Now, it appears she’s ready to dive back into directing with the upcoming film, “Four Days Like Sunday.”

According to Deadline, Rebecca Hall is set to write, direct, and star in the new family drama, “Four Days Like Sunday.” The film is said to draw from her own past and tell the story of a preteen girl in the ‘90s who has taken on a more parental role herself when it comes to her mother, a former Broadway star.

“When I wrote this film, it came from a place of understanding that I couldn’t really do anything else until I made this story,” said Hall. “It’s highly personal to me and I hope will express my sensibility, exuberance and ambition as a filmmaker. It is a story filled with comedy, music, emotion, color and the nuanced and complicated relationship between a mother and child. It speaks to the bubble of reality that every family creates and the people and events that help a child see beyond them. I can’t wait to take it out of my head and onto the screen.”

As mentioned, Hall debuted as a director with the drama “Passing.” As an actor, she’s shown up in films such as “The Night House,” “Resurrection,” and the aforementioned MonsterVerse films. While the ‘Godzilla’ franchise doesn’t necessarily give Hall a platform to showcase her immense talent, something like “Resurrection” definitely does.

No release date has been set for “Four Days Like Sunday.”
