Hosers, Killers, Lovers Round Out Canadian Features Added To TIFF

With less than a month to go before Toronto becomes Hollywood for about two weeks, the Toronto International Film Festival has announced 23 Canadian features that have been added to the already lengthy lineup of films.

Among the highlights are: “Good Neighbors,” a referendum-era, Montreal-set thriller from Jacob Tierney (“The Trotsky”) starring Scott Speedman, Emily Hampshire and Jay Baruchel; “Trigger,” starring Molly Parker and the late Tracy Wright from the always busy Bruce McDonald about a couple of ex-rockers who decide to reunite for a gig; Xavier Dolan’s Cannes entry “Les Amours Imaginaires”; and most excitingly, a Midnight Madness screening of “Fubar II,” Michael Dowse’s sequel to the Canadian cult classic.

The films join the previously announced Gala Presentations of “The Bang Bang Club” by Steven Silver, “Barney’s Version” by Richard J. Lewis, “Casino Jack” by George Hickenlooper and “Score: A Hockey Musical” by Mike McGowan as the Canadian films on the docket. There’s still some time to go before things get underway in Toronto so expect a few more announcements.

The Toronto Film Festival runs from September 9-19th.
