Hugh Jackman Basically Confirms Old Man Logan For ‘Wolverine 3’ & ‘X-Men Apocalypse’ Cameo

X-Men: Days Of Future Past

The synopsis for “X-Men: Apocalypse” tells us next to nothing. The movie is set in ‘80s and Apocalypse is the villain. But tonight, at San Diego Comic-Con, the entire cast of ‘Apocalypse’ was under one roof in San Diego, the first teaser trailer was shown., and it provided details on a film we know very little about so far.

First off, the movie is set in 1983, ten years after “X-Men: Days Of Future Past,” and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) has apparently hung up the cape and is trying to lead a normal life. But the advent of Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), a super human figure who can control mutants, changes all that. The trailer also revealed which mutant characters will become Apocalypse’s Four Horseman — the mutants that he controls to fight the X-Men. Those actors appear to be three new mutant characters introduced in this movie Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Angel (Ben Hardy), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), and lastly Magneto himself.

Meanwhile, before the cast even took the stage, Hugh Jackman addressed the crowd first. He confirmed to the audience that the Untitled “Wolverine 3” would be his last offing as the character Logan (as he’s said umpteen times), but director Bryan Singer let it slip that Jackman would likely have a cameo in ‘Apocalypse’ (as you pretty much expected). As for that third ‘Wolverine.’ “Three words,” Jackman said, “Old Man Logan,” teasing and essentially confirming rumors that said “Wolverine 3” will feature the storyline of an older Logan (while a mutant who has super healing powers, Logan does age, just very slowly).

Starring, wait for it, James McAvoy, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Oscar Isaac, Michael Fassbender, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Munn, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Ben Hardy, and Lana Condor, “X-Men: Apocalypse” hits theaters May 27, 2016 . Singer revealed a new Comic-Con poster, and you can check that out below. Lots of supporting tweet context below with more story and character details.
