Jason Momoa Reignites The Snyder Cut Fires, Thinks The “Public Needs to See" Alternate Cut of 'Justice League'

Move on, Scorsese versus Marvel Wars, the saga of the “Snyder Cut” continues and is here to stay! Two years after “Justice League” came out in theaters, director Zack Snyder’s original cut of the movie has taken on mythical proportions worthy of an Indiana Jones movie. Now Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa, confirms he’s seen the Snyder Cut.

Though Momoa had already claimed on Instagram that he had seen Zack Snyder’s cut of the film, calling it “ssssiiicccckkkkkk,” he added further fuel to the fire while talking to MTV News. In an interview with Josh Horowitz, Momoa once again reaffirms that he’s seen the Snyder Cut, and gives his opinion on the potential release of the superhero cinematic equivalent of the Ark of the Covenant: “I think the public needs to see it,” Momoa said. “I’m obviously indebted to Warners and DC. I don’t know how they feel about it, but as a fan, I’m very, very happy that I got to see it.” Then Momoa gets asked whether the movie was actually different than the theatrical version of “Justice League,” to which the actor simply said, “Yes.”

The more interesting part of the news, however, comes when the interviewer asks Momoa on whether the visual effects in the Snyder Cut were actually finished or if it was just an assembly cut, prompting Momoa to reply, “Oh, do you think Zach couldn’t finish it?” This is telling, since it was previously reported that Kevin Smith knew the infamous secret to all the truths of the universe, also known as the Snyder Cut, existed. More importantly, Smith also said, “it was certainly not meant for mass consumption.”

And so the question remains. How finished is the Snyder Cut? Does it actually make the movie better? Will we ever see it? Who knows. In the meantime, the only certainties are that Zack Snyder will continue to share cryptic images on Vero, and that people will keep the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag alive.
