John Goodman is no stranger to the baseball diamond. He famously put on the pinstripes to portray none other than Babe Ruth in "The Babe" nearly two decades ago. But this time, he's going to be off the field for his next baseball-themed film.
The actor has come aboard the increasingly impressive cast of "Trouble With The Curve" starring Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake. Marking the feature debut of longtime pal and Malpaso Productions partner Robert Lorenz, the Randy Brown penned film centers on an aging baseball scout (Eastwood), who is slowly going blind, on a final trip with his daughter to check out a hot prospect. Adams will play his daughter who is along for the ride, with Timberlake as an ex-pitcher turned scout who tries to woo her. Goodman will play Eastwood's friend and fellow scout, who still believes the fading talent hound has the goods.
As is typical with anything Eastwood seems to be involved in, this movie will be turned around hella fast with a September 28th release date already stenciled in. Filming presumably begins soon, but before Goodman gets to work on it, he'll be re-teaming with his buds the Coens for "Inside Llewyn Davis." [Variety]
