Jordan Peele Set To Host & Narrate Upcoming Reboot Of 'The Twilight Zone'

We’ve known for a while now that Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions was spearheading a new reboot of the “The Twilight Zone” TV series. With “Black Mirror” such a hit for Netflix, it’s exciting to see what Peele and his staff have in mind for this new version of the classic series. Well, while we don’t know any of the real specifics regarding the plot of any episodes, we do know one thing — Peele is going to be the host.

In a new video posted to his Twitter account, Peele teases the upcoming reboot that’s making its way to CBS All Access next fall. At first, you hear the classic introduction, as narrated by Rod Serling, the voice of the original series. As the teaser progresses, Serling’s voice is overtaken by Peele’s as the new host appears on the screen.

“Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours,” Peele said (via THR). “I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of ‘The Twilight Zone.’”

As mentioned, there’s no specific release date, but we do know that CBS hopes to air the series on their fledgling streaming service in fall 2019. “The Twilight Zone” is just one of the variety of projects that Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions has on its slate. The studio is also working on an HBO supernatural drama titled “Lovecraft Country,” an Amazon series titled “The Hunt,” and a YouTube Premium series called “Weird City.” This is in addition to the feature film work, which includes the recently-released “BlacKkKlansman,” the rumoredCandyman” reboot, and Peele’s upcoming “Get Out” follow-up “Us.”

With all those projects sporting Peele’s name, it’s interesting to see how many turn into big hits for the Comedy Central star turned Hollywood mogul.
