It looks like Superman has found his Mom.

Deadline reports, in what is likely to be the last piece of major casting, that Julia Ormond is in talks to take on the role of Lara Lor-Van, Superman’s Krypton Mom in Zack Snyder‘s “Man Of Steel.” You’ve probably seen the respected actress in films like “The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button,” “Che,” “Smillas Sense Of Snow” and “Legends Of The Fall.” She’ll next be seen playing screen legend Vivien Leigh in “My Week With Marilyn.” It’s nice bit of casting for the superhero film, which is gearing up to go in front of cameras.

Ormond would play opposite Russell Crowe as Jor-El and join the cast of Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon and Antje Traue in the film. The film will hit theaters in late 2012.
