'Justice League': Superhero Team Is All In To Save The World

DC Films and Warner Bros. probably didn’t want it to be this way. “Justice League” is supposed to be the centerpiece showcase of their cinematic universe, yet the film has been just as plagued with second guessing as “Suicide Squad“. Even had Zack Snyder not left for personal reasons during the film’s post-production, there still would’ve been massive reshoots to try and fix the movie, and Joss Whedon still would’ve been employed to write additional material — enough that he now has a screenplay credit on the movie.

Through it all, there have been plenty of rumors about what exactly has been changed in the picture, though one of the most prominent is that DC Films is giving Wonder Woman a more central role thanks to the smash hit movie this summer. However, Gal Gadot has pushed back against those claims.

“I did one week . Diana serves as the glue of the team. She finds moments to support every one of the team and make them feel stronger or believe in themselves. But this is not a Wonder Woman movie,” she told Empire (via ScreenRant).

Meanwhile, one character who didn’t get called back for more work is J.K. Simmons, who plays Commissioner Gordon. “I wasn’t involved with Joss at all, [he was here for] some of the reshoots and I wasn’t involved in that. But I think he’s really dedicated to finishing the story that Zack was telling. Again, that’s my understanding from my vantage point”, he told RCN. Here’s the official synopsis:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.  But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

“Justice League” opens on November 17th.
