With “Luxor” arriving on VOD later this week, we’re happy to give our readers an exclusive look at a clip from the drama. The film is set in Egypt and tells the story of Hana, a British woman that returns to the city of Luxor and comes across a former lover, Sultan. And while there, she has to come to terms with her past and her choices, while exploring the beautiful locale.

Andrea Riseborough stars opposite Karim Saleh (“Transparent,” “Counterpart”) and Michael Landes (“Gold,” “Just Wright”) in the film. “Luxor” is written and directed by Zeina Durra. The new drama marks the first feature for the filmmaker since her debut film, “The Imperialists Are Still Alive!” which premiered at Sundance in 2010.

“Luxor” debuted at this year’s Sundance and in our review of the film, we describe the film as “a picture not so dissimilar from the symbol of an ankh, as afflictions are excavated, a ray of divine sunlight shines through, and what once felt like an eternal absence is illuminated as a tunnel that can be crawled out of with the aid of a deeply personal connection.” That is to say, we’re fans of the film.

“Luxor” is set to arrive on VOD on December 4. You can watch the exclusive clip below.

Here’s the synopsis:

When British aid worker Hana returns to the ancient city of Luxor, she comes across Sultan, a talented archaeologist and former lover. As she wanders, haunted by the familiar place, she struggles to reconcile the choices of the past with the uncertainty of the present.
