'Mad God' Trailer: VFX Master Phil Tippett Introduces A Film 30 Years In The Making

It’s no secret that movies take a long time to make. With the special effects that go into creating an animated, those often take even longer. But at 30 years in the making, “Mad God” blows them all out of the water. With its new trailer, the movie is finally going to see the light of day.

“Mad God” comes from famed special effects master Phil Tippett. He boasts several awards and an impressive resume. Tippett worked on two of the original “Star Wars” movies and oversaw the dinosaurs on “Jurassic Park.” His career in visual effects has spanned over 45 years and includes two Oscars, six nominations, one BAFTA award, two Emmys, and the Winsor McCay and Georges Méliès awards.

His groundbreaking work is what originally forced him to take a break from creating “Mad God.” 20 years later, he began to revisit his abandoned movie. Tippett took advantage of the Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020 to finish his masterpiece. Tippett has cemented his place as a trailblazer in the visual effects industry, and the completion of “Mad God” signifies a new chapter in an already impressive career.
