So, I tried to watch the first episode of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” but the acting was so bad, the jokes so flaccid and the overall vibe so off that I bailed after ten minutes. Does it get any better? Certainly, ABC is banking on comic fans to keep tuning in having already given the show a full series order, and if all goes according to plan, it’s just the start of Marvel‘s plans for small screen domination.
Deadline reports the studio is currently shopping four drama series and a miniseries to cable and VOD outlets, with Netflix, Amazon and WGN America among those approached. What are they? Ha ha ha, nice one. Naturally, Marvel is keeping things under lock and key, with non-disclosure agreements signed and whatnot, so let the rumor mill swirl. But what we do know is that an “Agent Carter” series is in the works, and from what we hear through the grapevine, Hayley Atwell has already agreed to star.
So, we’ll leave you to speculate away—what do you think these shows could be? What characters do you think are worth tuning in for week after week? Frankly, we’re more curious about what that miniseries thing is, but as these things go, expect morsels of crumbs of revelations to follow until Kevin Feige and co. finally unveil what they’re working on.
