Marvel Wants To Meet Vin Diesel For Some Reason & Armie Hammer Is Not Ant-Man

nullIt seems rumors are flying fast and furious this week for nerd franchises, so let’s get a handle on them, and kick off with one that is actually legit, followed by a couple others that are sort of ridiculous…

First up, Vin Diesel will get dorks talking late into the night as the actor revealed on his (kind of amazing) Facebook page: “Marvel has requested a meeting… no idea what for… haha, you probably know better than me…” And that’s it. So what can we surmise? Not much except Marvel wants to get into the same room as Vin Diesel, but we would presume that it would mean they want him for a pretty major character. Or maybe they want to tie the Marvel universe into the “Fast & Furious” for the ultimate crossover saga or maybe Riddick will join The Avengers. WHO KNOWS?

Next up, you can tell when folks are straining for some kind of intel when non-answers are being poured over for some kind of substance. And ScreenRant did just that when a recent exchange with Armie Hammer over his set visit to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” that somehow morphed into ZOMG IS HE PLAYING ANT-MAN? Well, no. Edgar Wright has been forced to weigh in, both denying his rumored presence on the ‘Winter Soldier’ set, and adding that he’s actually never met Hammer. While Variety adds that the actor is making “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” next and isn’t really thinking much further beyond that. So, yeah. Cool it, kids.

And in the same vein, Bleeding Cool thinks Dominic Monaghan might be in “Star Wars: Episode 7” because when he was asked about it, he replied: “Well, I can’t answer that question. Ask J.J. Abrams. He’ll know.” That, and because he fits one of the character descriptions that leaked out: Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit.

Yeah, the standard for rumors is being lowered by the minute…..
