'Message From The King' Trailer: Chadwick Boseman Wants Revenge

A movie that didn’t really make much of a wave at TIFF last year, “Message From The King” (our review) is now destined to live in the corners of Netflix you probably don’t venture into very often. It’s a shame because Chadwick Boseman is apparently pretty good in the film, but perhaps his status as Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will help draw some eyes to the picture.

Co-starring Teresa Palmer, Luke Evans, and Alfred Molina, the film runs with a simple, noir-ish plot, following a man from South Africa who comes to Los Angeles to look for his missing sister. When he doesn’t get the answers he likes, he starts cracking skulls. Here’s the synoposis:

MESSAGE FROM THE KING tells the story of Jacob (Chadwick Boseman) as he leaves South Africa for a week in America with a simple mission. Find Bianca. Losing contact with his younger sister, fueled by regret over unresolved issues, found him in the pit of Los Angeles’ underbelly, immersed in a worst-case scenario. He had one week to find her, to save her from all she had become. However he would find himself avenging the only thing left. Her memory.

“Message From The King” hits Netflix on August 4th.
