Michelle Rodriguez Defends Liam Neeson Against Claims Of Racism By Pointing Out His Kissing Skills In 'Widows'

Whenever there’s a new racism controversy in Hollywood, we normally hear from the accused person’s defenders, using a variety of examples to prove that the person in question is not a racist. However, when Michelle Rodriguez attempts to explain why Liam Neeson is not a racist (after his recent controversial statements), she uses an example that is really…unique.

Speaking at a recent event, Rodriguez attempted to defend her ‘Widows’ co-star Neeson by using his on-screen work as a reason by the actor is not a racist.

“It’s all fuckin’ bullshit. Liam Neeson is not a racist,” said Rodriguez (via Vanity Fair). “Dude, have you watched ‘Widows?’ His tongue was so far down Viola Davis’s throat. You can’t call him a racist ever. Racists don’t make out with the race that they hate, especially in the way he does with his tongue—so deep down her throat. I don’t care how good of an actor you are. It’s all bullshit. Ignore it. He’s not a racist. He’s a loving man. It’s all lies.”

Okay then.

The topic then turned to the upcoming “Fast and Furious 9,” which will no doubt use some sort of pun so that it meets the criteria of a ‘Fast and Furious’ title. After controversy about whether or not she’d continue on with the series, after she made claims that the films were a bit misogynistic (shocking, I know), the actress revealed she’s not sure if she’s returning to the main series.

“I don’t know if I’m coming back. I have to read the script first. Once I read the script, I’ll know,” Rodriguez said. “When I read the script—and I hope that it’s inclusive—then I’ll agree to come back or not. My energy is completely directed toward the feminine right now and supporting women.”

She continued, “I’ve spent most of my life shooting guns, and hanging out with the boys, and watching them scratch their balls, and smelling protein-mixed farts. And now I’m feeling the poetry and the beauty and the sensuality of women, and the power we bring together. So they need to show more love to the women. I don’t know which direction it’s going to go. But I know that I’m headed in that direction. We’ll see if that all matches.”

Now, we prefaced this by saying “main series” because it was recently revealed that there is a female-focused spin-off film in the works, which would presumably star Rodriguez’s character Letty.
