National Society Of Film Critics Name 'Lady Bird' Best Picture Of 2017

So, thought you could take a break from awards for just one day? Guess again. Last night, the Golden Globes handed out the hardware, and “Lady Bird” took home two big prizes — Best Comedy and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. Today, A24 and Greta Gerwig can do a victory lap, thanks to the National Society Of Film Critics.

The organization revealed their list of winners over the weekend and “Lady Bird” nabbed four huge prizes: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress. What impact will this have on the Oscars? Probably none, but if it keeps “Lady Bird” in the spotlight, and gets more people out to see the indie hit, then that’s a victory in itself.

Meanwhile, though the Oscars have get to give him a statue, Roger Deakins won for Best Cinematography for “Blade Runner 2049.” Check out the full list of winners below.
