Neill Blomkamp Shares More ‘Alien 5’ Concept Art

The chances were already slim that Neill Blomkamp would get to make his proposed “Alien 5” after Ridley Scott elbowed him out of the way to make “Alien: Covenant.” Now with Disney taking over ownership of Fox and thus the franchise, all that stuff the filmmaker developed for his project will likely collect dust. However, every now and then, we’ll get a glimmer of what could’ve been.

The director has shared some more concept art for his movie, which would’ve picked up directly after James Cameron‘s “Aliens” and politely ignored all the other movies that followed. Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn would have been brought back to the series, though the exact storyline still hasn’t been revealed. At any rate, it would’ve been decidedly different than Scott’s quasi-philosophical prequels, that keep moving further and further away from the core idea of “Alien,” with the director next talking about introducing AI to the storyline (if that ever happens).
