'Never Have I Ever' Trailer: Mindy Kaling Has A Teen Sex Comedy Series Coming To Netflix

Just because COVID-19 is shutting down productions all around the world and has closed all the movie theaters doesn’t mean that Netflix is going to stop releasing content on top of content for you to consume while stuck at home. And the streaming platform’s latest attempt at binge-worthiness is a new comedy series, “Never Have I Ever.”

As seen in the trailer, actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan stars as Devi, an Indian-American teen that is having a rough time becoming popular in high school. She plans on fixing that with an elaborate plan that involves finding an appropriate boy to have sex with. Because, as we know with all teen comedies, having sex in high school is the most important thing in the world and leads to instant popularity. It’s a proven fact.

The series is executive produced by Mindy Kaling, who is probably best known as starring in sitcoms such as “The Office” and “The Mindy Project.” She’s also an accomplished writer and producer, having scripted last year’s “Late Night.” She’s joined by Lang Fisher, who serves as the producer, showrunner, and writer for “Never Have I Ever.”

“Never Have I Ever” arrives on Netflix on April 27.

Never Have I Ever is a new coming-of-age comedy about the complicated life of a modern-day first-generation Indian American teenage girl. The series stars newcomer, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi, an overachieving high school sophomore who has a short fuse that gets her into difficult situations.
