Joe Penhall and Mike Nichols have been tapped to write and direct an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel “Deep Water.” The film centers on a couple in a loveless marriage who hang on through an arrangement whereby the husband permits the wife to take lovers only those lovers to begin dying.
