The new trailer for “A Family Man” (formerly known as “The Headhunter’s Calling) stars Gerard Butler as a sleazy businessman straight out of “The Wolf of Wall Street.” As you may expect from this type of film, the businessman neglects his family, as he tries to climb his way up the corporate ladder. Obviously his wife is upset with him, and Butler’s character is forced to choose between his family and his career. Sounds pretty cliché, right? Well, then a surprise revelation changes the course of the film.

If you want to watch the movie without knowing the turning point, or the rest of the movie for that matter, then maybe this trailer isn’t for you. Unfortunately, the promo doesn’t leave much of the story to your imagination. Viewers can pretty much chart the entire plot from beginning to end without even paying the money to see the film. However, the footage shown is pretty promising, nonetheless.
“A Family Man” stars Butler alongside Willam Dafoe, Gretchen Mol, Alfred Molina, and Alison Brie. Mark Williams, a producer on “The Accountant,” is making his directorial debut.
“A Family Man” is a DirectTV exclusive set to debut in May.
