Got a Tip?

Oscar Isaac Joins ‘Therese Raquin’ With Elizabeth Olsen

oscar-isaac-Well, if the filmmakers were trying to make a movie that caters right to The Playlist's sweet spot, they're coming pretty close with "Therese Raquin." Already set to star veteran Glenn Close, rising star Elizabeth Olsen and that guy from 'Harry Potter' Tom Felton, the film has now added one more emerging talent to the cast.

Oscar Isaac continues to stack his upcoming filmography ("Inside Llewyn Davis," "The Bourne Legacy"), taking a role in the period film. Based on the novel by Emilie Zola, and set to be directed by Charlie Stratton, the story follows Therese (Olsen), a young woman trapped in a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin Camille (Felton), who enters a passionate affair with her husband's best friend Laurent (Isaac), with tragic results for everyone involved. Close plays Camille's mother, who he lives with alongside his wife.

Great material, great story, strong cast — it'll be up to first timer Stratton to bring it across the finish line on his debut. He'll certainly have the talent around him, but here's hoping he can wrangle it wisely. A two month shoot in Serbia kicks off soon. No release date yet but we expect this to hit the festival circuit next year. [Deadline]
