Oscar Isaac Lands Villain Role In 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Oscar Isaac, ApocalypseSo much for those rumors. All the chatter around Tom Hardy or Idris Elba assuming the role of the titular villain in "X-Men: Apocalypse" was completely wrong, as another actor will be adding to his franchise credentials.

Oscar Isaac, who already has a role in the forthcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens," has now landed the bad guy gig in ‘Apocalypse.’ The character is named En Sabah Nur, aka "The First One," and he’ll give our heroes a hard time in the ’80s set sequel that will put the romance between Magneto and Mystique at the center. And of course we already caught a glimpse of the character in the post-credits scene of "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," with Brendan Pedder in the role, although obviously, he’s now been replaced.

Production begins next spring on ‘Apocalypse,’ and will hit screens on May 27, 2016. [Variety]
