'Our Boys' Trailer: HBO's Latest Limited Series Is A True Crime Look At The Israel/Palestine Conflict

Decades and decades have gone by and yet the tensions between Israel and Palestine have only escalated. The debate about which side is right is largely split amongst people down religious lines and has led to near-constant strife and many, many casualties. And the relationship between the two sides is set to be examined in the upcoming thriller series from HBO titled “Our Boys.”

As seen in the trailer for the 10-part limited series, “Our Boys” follows the police investigation behind the murders of three Jewish teens by Hamas militants. The story then finds a Palestinian teen from eastern Jerusalem that has been murdered, in apparent retaliation. The series follows the terror investigation, as well as the horrified parents that are looking for justice for their slain teen.

“Our Boys” is based on the real story of the investigation behind Muhammad Abu Khdeir’s murder, which escalated to the point of war in Gaza. The series was filmed in Israel and looks to be an authentic peek into one of the biggest conflicts in our world today.

The limited series is created by Hagai Levi, Joseph Cedar, and Tawfik Abu-Wael. Back-to-back episodes of “Our Boys” premieres on HBO on August 12, with new episodes each Monday after.

Here’s the synopsis:

In the summer of 2014, three Jewish teenagers are kidnapped and murdered by Hamas militants. Israel is shocked, shaken and furious. Two days later, the burned body of a Palestinian teenager from eastern Jerusalem is found in a forest on the western outskirts of the city. In the ensuing days, an agent from the internal terror division of the Shin Bet investigates the murder, while the parents of the slain teenager begin their long and anguished journey toward justice and consolation.
