Who else will join Jamie Bell, Charlie Heaton, and Lashana Lynch on BBC/Netflix‘s new “Peaky Blinders” sequel series? Netflix has an update there, with “Game Of Thrones” alum Conleth Hill leading the seven new names joining the show. Two actors return to reprise their roles from the original series too: Ned Denehey and Packy Lee.
Let’s take a look at the new faces joining the series cast first, however. Beyond Hill, Daniel Monks, Samuel Bottomley, Arturo Muselli, Eugene Collins, Lucie Shorthouse, and Cal O’Driscoll will star in the new show. The characters most of these actors will play remain wraps however, except for Hill, O’Driscoll, and Monks. Hill will play Clemmy Keeler, the patriarch of the rival Keeler family. “Vikings: Valhalla” actor O’Driscoll plays Clemmy’s son, Aidan Keeler. Meanwhile, Monks is on the other side of the law in Birmingham, playing Detective Inspector Bell. As for Denehey, he returns as Shelby clan member Charlie Strong, while Lee is back as Shelby confidant Johnny Dogs.
The nine names announced by Netflix today join the previously cast Bell and Heaton, who lead the new series, as well as actresses Lynch, Jessica Brown Findlay, and Lucy Karczewski. The sequel series will star Bell and Heaton as Duke and Charles Shelby, racing against the clock to rebuild their family’s criminal empire in 1950s Birmingham, in the wake of the death of Cillian Murphy‘s Tommy Shelby. Mike Barker and Anna Zackrisson have been announced as directors on the new series, with Tim Whitby also on board as a producer.
Filming for the new “Peaky Blinders” is already underway in Birmingham, so expect the show to premiere on BBC, Netflix, and BBC One in 2027; stay tuned for an official release date. The new series currently has a two-season run, but expect it to get renewed for more. if it proves as popular as its predecessor. And yes, Steven Knight is still on board as creator and writer for this one, even though he’s neck-deep in his “James Bond” duties right now.
