‘Heart Of The Beast’ Trailer: Brad Pitt Stars In David Ayer’s Alaskan Survival Pic On September 25

The last time Brad Pitt and director David Ayer teamed up was for 2014’s “Fury,” a war pic that remains Ayer’s best-received film. Will “Heart Of The Beast” capture the same magic? Moviegoers find out when the survival pic hits theaters in September.

Unlike “Fury,” however, “Heart Of The Beast” isn’t an ensemble film but instead a solo showcase for its leading man. Pitt stars in the film as a Special Forces officer who, after a plane crash, finds himself stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness with his trusted combat dog, Odin. Will their bond be strong enough for them to escape back to civilization alive?

Here’s an official synopsis for “Heart Of The Beast,” courtesy of Paramount:

After a harrowing plane crash, Special Forces officer James Belmont (Brad Pitt) and his combat dog, Odin, find themselves stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Together, they are forced into a brutal fight for survival against the elements. From acclaimed filmmaker David Ayer, Heart of the Beast is an intense adventure thriller that explores the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend as they face their greatest battle yet.

Along with Pitt, “Heart Of The Beast also stars J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. Ayer directs a script by Cameron Alexander for the film. Producers include Pitt, Ayer, Olivia Hamilton, and Marty Bowen, with Damien Chazelle serving as executive producer.
