Taylor Sheridan is keeping his Paramount+ pipeline busy, and next up is the return of “Lioness,” the female-led espionage thriller led by Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman. The streamer has released the first teaser for Season 3, which premieres Sunday, August 2.
Created and written by Sheridan, Lioness stars Saldaña as Joe, a CIA operative whose professional and personal lives are once again pushed into dangerous proximity. According to Paramount+, Season 3 follows Joe as “hidden networks, foreign operatives, and personal betrayals collide,” with unseen forces closing in around her and the war she is fighting beginning to reach every part of her life.
Kidman returns as Kaitlyn, with Michael Kelly back as Westfield, both guiding Joe through a mission that appears to be the Lioness team’s most personal yet. The new season also brings back Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Genesis Rodriguez, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, Hannah Love Lanier, and Ian Bohen.
The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Executive producers include Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Saldaña, Kidman, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, and Keith Cox.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Lioness are currently available to stream exclusively on Paramount+. Season 3 premieres Sunday, August 2, on Paramount+.
