'Possessor' Uncut Trailer: Brandon Cronenberg's Sci-Fi Thriller Puts A Mind-Bending Twist On Killing

If you’re a hit-person, given the assignment to murder a high-profile CEO, wouldn’t it be a lot easier if you could do that without actually endangering your own body and/or identity? Well, for the assassin in Brandon Cronenberg’sPossessor,” that’s exactly what she does.

As seen in the new “uncut” trailer for “Possessor,” Andrea Riseborough plays Tasya Vos, a corporate assassin that is able to use brain-implant technology to “possess” another person’s body and use them to commit her murders. But, given this is a Brandon Cronenberg film, you know that nothing is as simple as that, and things eventually descend into bloody chaos.

The film stars Riseborough alongside Christopher Abbott, Rossif Sutherland, Tuppence Middleton, Sean Bean, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Brandon Cronenberg wrote and directed the feature, marking his first feature since 2012’s “Antiviral.”

We were able to catch a screening at the film earlier this year at Sundance. And in our review, we said, “Brandon Cronenberg’s sophomore feature, ’Possessor,’ is a bloody existential fever dream that, at its best, is unnerving and thrilling, and, at its worst, is tiring and misbegotten.”
