Written and directed by Fernando Eimbcke, the film follows 14-year-old Olmo, played by Aivan Uttapa, whose adolescence has been shaped by responsibilities he would rather avoid. His father, Nestor, is confined to bed by an illness, leaving Olmo, his mother, Cecilia, and his sister, Ana, to share the daily demands of caring for him.

Olmo would prefer to spend his time with his best friend, Miguel, and pursue his next-door neighbor, Nina. When Nina finally invites him to a party on the same day he has been left alone to care for his father, Olmo sets out to escape his duties. His efforts quickly spiral into a night of mischief and chaos, forcing him to confront the family life he has been trying to leave behind.

Eimbcke co-wrote the screenplay with Vanesa Garnica. The cast also includes Gustavo Sánchez Parra, Diego Olmedo, Andrea Suárez Paz, Rosa Armendariz, and Melanie Frometa.

Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Eréndira Núñez Larios, and Michel Franco produced the film, with Brad Pitt, Caddy Vanasirikul, and Yuri Chung serving as executive producers.
