'A Quiet Place II' Super Bowl Ad & Featurette Tease The Highly-Anticipated Sequel

We are less than two months away from the theatrical release of the first major horror event of the year— “A Quiet Place II.” And with only a short time left to market the film, Paramount is making sure that everyone knows its coming by including it during the world’s biggest television event, the Super Bowl.

In the quick Super Bowl ad for “A Quiet Place II,” we’re quickly introduced to the current situation of the family that we meant in the first film. The husband (John Krasinski) is dead, but shown quickly in a flashback, and now his wife (Emily Blunt) is left to protect their three kids without the comfort of their own home. And yes, there are plenty of those monsters still out in the world, as well as humans that don’t feel the desire to help their own kind.

In addition to the quick Super Bowl ad, Paramount also released a behind-the-scenes featurette, which not only includes some footage from the upcoming sequel but also has interviews with Krasinski, who returns to write and direct, and Blunt. Both actors explain the stakes of this new film and what makes “A Quiet Place II” another terrifying horror film that still retains the real emotions that made the first one such a surprise hit.

Joining Blunt and Krasinski in “A Quiet Place II” are Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Djimon Hounsou, Cillian Murphy, and Wayne Duvall.

“A Quiet Place II” arrives in theaters on March 20.

Here’s the synopsis:

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
